As part of the first phase of reopening, Canada has announced that fully vaccinated travelers will be permitted to enter the country starting July 5th, 2021.

The Government of Canada continues to work globally through the World Health Organization as well as closely with the provinces, territories, Indigenous partners and American authorities on moving forward toward reopening in a way that is safe for both countries.” - The Honourable Dominic LeBlanc President of the Queen’s Privy Council for Canada and Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs
Fully vaccinated individuals must have received a Canadian approved vaccine within 14 days prior to entering the country. These travelers will be exempt from quarantining or additional testing requirements. However, Canada will still require pre- and on-arrival testing, and all travelers must be asymptomatic before entering the country.
As the COVID-19 situation evolves, the Canadian government may lift or adjust the current border measures, as necessary. Canada urges travelers to check both the federal and provincial restrictions and requirements prior to travelling. Provincial governments may have their own restrictions in place in addition to the federal restrictions.
Eligible exempted travelers must have had a full series or combination of Canadian-approved vaccines. Canada is currently accepting COVID-19 vaccines by Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca/COVISHIELD, and Janssen (Johnson & Johnson). Travelers must provide proof of the vaccination as a digital or paper copy through ArriveCAN prior to arrival.
