4,200 Express Entry candidates have received Invitations to Apply for Canadian permanent residence in the 162nd Express Entry draw on September 2, 2020. Invitations were issued to candidates in all three of the economic immigration streams managed by the Express Entry system, including Federal Skilled Worker (FSW), Federal Skilled Trades (FST), and Canadian Experience Class (CEC). The minimum CRS cut-off score for this draw was 475.

In the 162nd Express Entry draw, the IRCC extended invitations to candidates across all three economic immigration streams under Express Entry. This was the third all-program draw since the beginning of the global COVID-19 pandemic. With travel restrictions in place to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, the Canadian government had limited Express Entry draws to candidates already in Canada. Since then, however, we have seen three all program draws which is a positive sign that Canada is returning to more regular Express Entry draws.
This draw saw 4,200 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) issued to candidates with a CRS score of 475 points or higher, down one point from the last all-program draw.
Many had hoped that Canada would drastically lower the CRS threshold to offset the losses due to the ongoing pandemic. Immigration to Canada is down 67% and it is unlikely Canada will meet it’s 2020 immigration targets.
